About Us - Why Homeowners Trust Countryscapes

Homeowners choose Countryscapes because of our experience, attention to detail, and long-standing roots in the community. Our team understands that a well-designed and well-maintained landscape is an important investment that should be cared for with knowledge and consistency.

From custom landscape design and installation to ongoing property care, we focus on delivering dependable service and quality workmanship. Many of the properties we care for are lake homes and second residences, and our clients rely on us to keep their landscapes looking beautiful so they can spend their time enjoying their property rather than maintaining it.

At Countryscapes, our goal is simple: provide the kind of thoughtful landscape care that homeowners can trust year after year.

Meet the Team

Continuing a Family Tradition

Countryscapes grew out of Fashion Farm, a family business founded in 1959 that became known throughout the area for its greenhouse, garden center, restaurant, and the beloved Pumpkin Fantasyland.

Today, Countryscapes, Inc. is led by Jason Becker, grandson of founder Charles Williams. Jason graduated from the University of Indianapolis in 1994 with a degree in Business and has worked in the family business ever since. He also holds his Indiana Accredited Horticulturist certification from the Indiana Nursery & Landscape Association.

In 2025, the family chose to focus entirely on Countryscapes’ landscape design, installation, and property care services—continuing the family tradition of caring for the land and serving the community.

LET'S START THE CONVERSATION

A New Chapter

The Becker family decided to close the retail divisions of Fashion Farm, including the greenhouse, garden center, restaurant, floral shop, and Pumpkin Fantasyland. After decades of serving the community in many different ways, the family chose to focus fully on their growing landscaping and property care services.

By concentrating entirely on landscape design, installation, and property care, Countryscapes can dedicate its full attention to helping clients create and maintain beautiful outdoor environments.

Growing Into Landscape Services

Alongside the farm market and seasonal events, the family also developed a landscaping division known as Countryscapes & Gardens, offering landscape design, installation, and plant material grown through the greenhouse and garden center.

Over the years, this landscaping work steadily expanded as homeowners sought professional help creating and maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces.

The Home of Pumpkin Fantasyland

One of Fashion Farm’s most iconic attractions was Pumpkin Fantasyland, a whimsical fall display featuring characters and scenes built entirely from pumpkins, gourds, and squash.

The idea began in 1972 when founder Charlie Williams imagined a character formed from two butternut squash. Over time, the displays grew into elaborate scenes featuring storybook characters, movie figures, and even U.S. Presidents.

For decades, until 2025 Pumpkin Fantasyland became a cherished tradition for families across northern Indiana each October.

A Family Legacy Rooted in the Land

Countryscapes, Inc. is built on a long tradition of family, farming, and serving the Ligonier community. The company traces its roots back to Fashion Farm, a beloved local destination founded by Charles and June Williams in 1959 when they purchased 200 acres known as the “Green Farm.”

In the spring of 1960, the family planted their first four acres of garden and opened a small roadside farm market. What began as a modest market quickly grew into a well-known destination that included a greenhouse and garden center, restaurant, floral shop, and seasonal attractions.

For generations, families visited Fashion Farm to enjoy the farm atmosphere, seasonal produce, and one of the region’s most memorable fall traditions.
